# Personal Details & Demographics

> Managing a child's personal information, address, and demographic details.

# Personal Details & Demographics

The Profile tab on a child's record contains their personal information, address, and demographic details. These fields are used for identification, record-keeping, correspondence, and pre-populating data on funding forms.

## Personal Details

This section collects the child's basic information. Accurate personal details are essential for identification and record-keeping.

* **Profile Picture** — Upload or change the child's profile photo. Click the avatar to upload an image.
* **First Name** — The child's first name (required).
* **Surname** — The child's surname (required).
* **Date of Birth** — The child's date of birth (required). Use the date picker to select the date.

## Address

Enter the child's home address. This information is used for correspondence and emergency purposes.

* **Address** — Up to three lines for the street address.
* **Postcode** — The child's home postcode.

## Demographics

Demographic information is used to pre-populate data on funding forms and helps with reporting and ensuring the nursery meets regulatory requirements.

* **Gender** — Select the child's gender (required).
* **Home Languages** — Select one or more languages spoken at home.
* **Ethnicity** — Select the child's ethnicity from the searchable list.
* **Nationality** — Select the child's nationality.
* **Country of Birth** — Select the child's country of birth.

### SEN & Additional Needs

The following fields track special educational needs and additional status indicators. These are found in the Health & Welfare section of the profile form.

* **SEN** — Toggle to indicate whether the child has Special Educational Needs.
* **SEND Status** — When SEN is enabled, select one or more SEND categories from the list. Available categories include:
  * Autistic Spectrum Disorder
  * Moderate Learning Difficulty
  * Speech, Language and Communication Needs
  * Severe Learning Difficulty
  * Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulty
  * SEN Support but no specialist assessment of type of need
  * Hearing Impairment
  * Multi-Sensory Impairment
  * Physical Disability
  * Specific Learning Difficulty
  * Social, Emotional and Mental Health
  * Visual Impairment
  * Other Difficulty / Disability
* **Two Year Funded** — Toggle to indicate whether the child receives two-year-old funding.
* **Looked After** — Toggle to indicate whether the child is a looked-after child.
* **EHCP** (Education, Health and Care Plan) — Toggle to indicate whether the child has an EHCP in place.
* **EAL** (English as an Additional Language) — Toggle to indicate whether the child has English as an additional language. This is automatically set when adding a child based on their home languages, but can be manually overridden.
