# News & Announcements

> Read announcements from your nursery in the parent portal.

Your nursery uses announcements to share news, reminders and photos with you. When a new announcement is sent, you receive an email with a short preview and a link to read the full announcement in the parent portal.

## Reading Announcements

1. Log in to the parent portal.
2. Go to **News** in the sidebar to see all announcements sent to you, newest first. Each shows a photo (if one is attached), the title, the date and a short preview.
3. Click an announcement to read the full content and view any photos or videos attached to it.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### Why did I get an announcement email?

Your nursery sent an announcement to you as a contact with parental responsibility for your child. Some announcements go to all parents; others go only to parents of children attending on a particular day, or to specific children's parents.

### I can't see an announcement another parent received

Announcements are targeted — for example, to parents of children who were booked in on a particular day. If you believe you're missing announcements you should receive, ask your nursery to check the email address and parental responsibility settings on your contact record.
