About Pigeonhole
Pigeonhole is nursery management software for early years settings in England. It's made by Pigeonhole Early Years Limited, a company based in Bristol, set up in February 2025.
It covers the register, observations and learning journals, invoicing, council funding claims, safeguarding records, occupancy and the forms families fill in — one system, with every part reading the same records.
What we believe
- Type it once.
- Most nursery admin is information you already hold, copied into another form, spreadsheet or council website. The software should fill those in from your records, and leave you the checking.
- You stay in charge.
- Where Pigeonhole uses AI — writing up an observation, drafting a report, reading a form — it produces a draft for your team to check and change. It doesn't publish anything to families on its own.
- Prices you can read.
- One price, set by the number of children, with every feature included. A 30-day free trial with no card, and unused months refunded if you leave. The figures are on our pricing page.
- Your data is yours.
- If you leave, we return or delete your setting's data, as our data processing agreement sets out.
How we handle data
- The platform is hosted on Microsoft Azure in the UK, and backups are kept there too.
- Personal data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
- For your setting's records we act as your data processor under UK GDPR. The few other companies that process data for us, and what for, are named in the agreement.
- If there's ever a data breach affecting your data, we'll tell you within 48 hours.
