The Pigeonhole safeguarding module provides a comprehensive system for recording, managing, and tracking safeguarding concerns within your setting. This guide covers all aspects of safeguarding management, from setting up DSL roles to managing records of concern and generating reports.
What is Safeguarding in Pigeonhole?
The safeguarding system allows designated staff members ( Designated Safeguarding Leads and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads) to:
- Record and track concerns about children or staff
- Assign and manage actions taken in response to concerns
- Maintain a complete audit trail of all safeguarding activity
- Generate and securely share safeguarding histories
- Manage sign-off workflows for accountability
- Communicate parent contact details and outcomes
Who Can Access Safeguarding?
Access to safeguarding features is role-based and permissions can be managed by the setting manager:
- Safeguarding Lead Role: Full access to create, view, edit, and manage and sign off all safeguarding records
- Deputy Safeguarding Lead Role: Full access to create, view and edit all safeguarding records
- Manager Role: Can configure settings, categories, and view safeguarding concerns and actions.
- Staff Role: Can raise concerns and view their assigned actions
