Pigeonhole Setup Guide
Welcome to Pigeonhole! This guide will walk you through the essential steps to get your nursery fully set up and operational. Follow these steps in order to ensure a smooth setup process.All setup pages live under Settings in the Admin Portal. Each step below links to both the relevant settings page in the app and the detailed documentation.

1. Setting Your Site Profile
Configure the basic details of your nursery, including its name, address, contact information, and branding. This is the foundational step for your Pigeonhole setup. Open in app: Settings.2. Configuring Sessions and Session Pricing
Set up the different types of sessions you offer (e.g., full day, morning, afternoon) and their respective prices. Open in app: Sessions and Session Pricing.3. Managing Term Dates and Holidays
Assign specific calendar dates to your defined terms and holiday periods. Open in app: Terms and Holidays.4. Defining Extra Charges
Outline any additional charges that may apply, such as late pick-up fees, meals, extracurricular activities, or ad-hoc services. Open in app: Extra Charges.5. Defining Rooms
Set up the rooms in your nursery. This helps organize children and staff assignments effectively. Open in app: Rooms.6. Configuring Funding Rates
Configure local authority funding rates for accurate funding calculations. Open in app: Funding Rates.7. Configuring Safeguarding Settings

Connect Xero or QuickBooks to automatically sync invoices and payments. Open in app: Integrations.9. Importing Data
Import your existing data for children, parents, and staff into the Pigeonhole system. Open in app: Import.10. Occupancy Planning
