The care diary in the app is the same record as on the web, built for a phone in a busy room. Tap the children, tap what happened, tap the value.
Open the Register tab, then the clipboard icon at the top to switch to the care diary.
The room grid
The date and room sit at the top, exactly as on the register — and the room you pick is shared between them.
Each child is a tile showing their most recent entry. Children who are asleep are highlighted in blue with a 💤 badge and a timer counting how long they’ve been down.
Logging something
- Tap the children it happened to. They get a tick.
- The action bar appears at the bottom — tap what happened.
- Fill in the detail and tap Save.
Tap Everyone to select the whole room at once — a nappy round or a mealtime is then a handful of taps.
The sheet names everyone it’s about and the save button counts them — Save for 2 children — so it’s clear what you’re recording before you commit. One set of values is saved as a separate entry for each child.
The actions reorder as you use them, so whatever your room logs most often moves to the left where your thumb already is.
Seeing and correcting a child’s day
The tile only shows the most recent entry. Press and hold a child to see everything logged for them today.
Tap any entry to correct its time or notes, or to delete it. Sleep checks are shown but can’t be edited — they’re a record that someone looked.
You can correct today’s entries. Entries from an earlier day need a manager.
Sleeps
- Tap a child, then Sleep to record them going down.
- Their tile turns blue with a 💤 badge and starts counting.
- When they wake, select them and tap 🌅 Woke up.
Woke up and Check only appear when every child you’ve selected is asleep — so you can’t accidentally wake a child who was never down.
If your room uses sleep checks, a banner shows how many children are asleep and counts down to the next check, turning red when it’s overdue. Tap it to complete the check. Rooms that don’t use sleep checks just see who is asleep.
Frequently Asked Questions
The care diary isn’t in the app
Check your setting has switched it on, and that a care diary profile covers your room. Both are set up by a manager under Settings → Care Diary on the web.
The room is empty
The grid shows children booked in for the day you’re looking at. Check the date at the top.
Each room records only what its profile is set up for.
Can I log for a child in another room?
Choose All Rooms from the room dropdown to see everyone booked in today.
